Review: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Summary:  St. Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school—it's a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's—the very place where they're most in danger... Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world's fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever. (Source: Goodreads.com)

Review: I have just put down the book and I have to say. Wow.

Vampire Academy was such an easy book to read. It made me laugh and cry and so much more. The action wasn't as exciting as some but the bits in between made up for it. I'm completely blown away.

Rose Hathaway is such a powerful character, a great characteristic for a protagonist. Lissa Dragonmir was just as good as the damsel in distress and Dimitri is just the perfect candy to put into this book, and the forbidden love that is laced around this just made me fall in love with this series even more.

I have to say, Richelle Mead is a genius! Vampire Academy was simply unputdownable! I HIGHLY recommend it.
