Goodreads Synopsis:
The grave is one wrong step away.

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans' voodoo queen just keeps on giving--leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity--forever. But how do you kill a killer who's already long dead?

Yet another wonderful installment to the Night Huntress series. Though, I'm starting to feel the detachment to the series like other fans. The fact that this installment wasn't as good as the last few installments, probably triggered it. The story was kind of dragging for me a little.

But Frost made up for it with a few entertaining new characters. My favorite would be Tyler and his snarky comments about the hot vampire trio (Ian, Spade and Bones). He is so gay and I love it. He made me laugh so hard! Almost as much as Ian used to, scratch that! Ian still makes me laugh. You wait until you get to the end of the book. :D

After seeing Ian again in this one, I felt bad for him because hes all alone. When is Frost going to write about his story? Aside from putting him in a novella. :( Poor thing needs some major love.

All in all, this 6th book wasn't as good as the first 5 and was missing something, but it still held its own manageable qualities. And to tell you the truth, I can't get enough of Cat and Bones' story. :D I can't wait for Vlad's in Once Burned.

  1. It was missing the sex.lol. Sorry but I was so sad that it lacked some of those steamy scenes. Oh and please you must read her story in The Bite Before Christmas because Ian is a star in it.lol and I am in love with him. Great Review, I know how you felt.

  2. Oh and I seen Book Depository has The Bite Before Christmas. That sucks about amazon. And also I think there one sex scene was just not very Cat and Bones like, I mean they were flying and it was not very detailed.lol. Man I am such a freak sometimes.

  3. I've read the first 5 books in the series and really enjoyed them though the first two remain my favourite books of the series :) !!
I haven't ordered this one yet and I don't know if I will because as you said I feel a bit detached to the series ..
But Bones will always be in my top ten favourite male characters !!
    Great review Naj ;)
