Review:

The Fallen series have taken itself from being infuriating to actually good. It took a new turn in this third installment which involved a growing trend in the Young Adult scene, "Time Traveling".

To begin with, the book didn't start as slow as I thought it would. It went straight to where the last book left off if you ignore the prologue but with it I got a bit lost. But who doesn't? Passion has proven itself to be a good enough read but not great. It was somewhat an adventure to see Lucinda travel back into her past lives to discover the truth and to see if the love of her life would do anything for her.

The book only made me think about one thing. Is it possible to fall in love over and over again with the same person from your past lives the moment you meet again? That doesn't seem very realistic but then again it is fiction. The author can write about anything they like without caring what the readers think. I get Luce's determination to find the truth since the secondary characters seem to like keeping things from our little protagonist.

It is safe to say that I didn't find Luce annoying in book 3 but I very much was annoyed at how Daniel did NOT remember any of his past encounters with himself when he could have used that as an advantage and actually caught up with her already! I hated how she kept missing her. Ridiculous how things turn out in these novels.

Overall, Kate's writing has improved immensely and continues to get better with each book she comes up with. She managed to write something that is well paced and enjoyable. 3.5/5 stars

  1. I am glad to see that the series has improved in the third book. I have the first two in the series, but had lost motivation to read them due to bad reviews.
