Cover Reveal: Into the Hollow (Experiment in Terror #6) by Karina Halle

I am so excited to present the newest edition to the wonderful EIT (Experiment in Terror) series by Karina Halle that I've designed especially for her. I was so surprised when she asked me to take up the role as a designer for the series. I couldn't help but squeal like a fan girl when she asked me. I am an absolute BIG FAN of the series. I love everything Dex & Perry!

Anyways! I present to you the Into the Hollow Cover!
I worked hard on it so I hope you all like it! :D

"Perry Palomino has fought her demons – and won – but the battle is far from over. She’s now left broken and on her own, leaving behind her life and family in Portland to focus on giving Dex Foray – and the Experiment in Terror show – a second chance. But their past mistakes continue to tease and test their relationship, as does the wild and desolate terrain of the Canadian Rockies. The snow-covered peaks and ravenous forests hide an urban legend too unbelievably frightening to be true and the only way the duo has a chance of surviving is if Perry can let in the very man who sent her to hell and back." - Goodreads

I can't wait to get a copy. This one seems like its going to one scary installment.

What do you guys think?

Quick Review: Enchanted by Rachel Wells

(Click image to add to your to be read pile)
Title: Enchanted
Author: Rachel Wells
Publisher: Self-Published
Genre: Young Adult: Paranormal, Young Adult: Paranormal Romance
Format: eBook
Buy: Barnes and Noble

Mandy is a quiet teenager who just wants to blend in with the crowd rather than stand out as anything or anybody. Mandy's pretty successful at this until her parents decide it's time to move from Boston to the quiet seaside town of York Beach, Maine, to "be closer to Nana". Although Mandy has been vacationing in York every summer since she was a child, she has no desire to live there and is worried about fitting in and finding friends during her senior year of high school.

Nana owns a flower shop in town and while working alongside her, Mandy makes a few friends and observes the oddities of the little town and its inhabitants. When she finds some old and cryptic correspondance hidden inside an antique trunk handed down from her Nana, the "oddities" turn into full fledged mysteries. As she unravels the forgotten and hidden history of the town, she simultaneously unravels her own family's past and current secrets while writing her future. With bits of romance and paranormal along the way, she is able to figure out the puzzle of the correspondance, the magic she never realized was surrounding her, and visions of the past and future. Will she walk away from her personal history and her future or will she realize it's ok to be somebody, even if that somebody is nothing like everybody else?

Why the uniformity!?

I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again. Can't YA paranormal indie books STOP being so uniformed. This book like many others before or after it have the same uniformed plot. Girl moves in with grandparent(s), finds out she's a paranormal, falls in love, gets kidnapped and nearly killed, gets saved by boyfriend who is a paranormal or a human, and then they live happily ever after. Names, place, type of paranormal and the bad guys are the only things that change.

For the record, Enchanted was a good book, I like the writing, some of the characters. Plus, the book entertained me and kept me occupied. Only problem is the endless loop of the same "Young Adult: Paranormal Romance Plot Curse". I would have liked this book way better if it were more unique and properly written to fit that uniqueness. The author is a good writer and is probably even better now. But seriously, get a new script please! Just because authors know they can self-publish now, doesn't mean you have to publish books that are just like the other books out there! Authors are supposed to be creative, bubbly if not dark and deep. Use whatever deepness and creativity you have and write a book that is unique!

I'm guessing, there's not much room for innovation since almost everything has been done before. But you never know. Maybe a great book will come out of it. For now, Enchanted is obviously a book that every YA author begins their writing career with.

Review: Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood #5) by J. R. Ward

(Click image to add to your to be read pile)
Title: Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood #5)
Author: J. R. Ward
Publisher: Signet
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy
Format: Paperback
Buy: Amazon | Barnes and Noble | The Book Depository

In Caldwell, New York, war rages between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Now the cold heart of a cunning predator will be warmed against its will...

Ruthless and brilliant, Vishous, son of the Bloodletter, possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a pretrans growing up in his father's war camp he was tormented and abused. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time-until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that cannot include her...

J. R. Ward does it again!

If you haven't read my previous review and you haven't read anything in the series, here is a low down on the basic concept of it. No matter how much and how far I get into reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I can't get enough of its musky, spicy and all too good snarky New York/Boston accents, dialogue and so much more. This series is about an entirely different scope of vampires. Vampires that have their own society and live amongst themselves, feed amongst themselves and have their own Police system which they call call The Brotherhood. They are a big brooding bunch of immensely good-looking men or vampires, who protect themselves from their own type of evil known as the Lessers. The Lessers are soulless, used to be humans who fight and kill vampires for their own enjoyment. They are under the control of The Omega. The Omega can be thought of as the Satan of this all new world. The demon that all vampire civilians run away from and fear.

Lover Unbound is about my favorite Brother, Vishous. He's dark, haunting, tormented, and a smartass and the Brotherhoods very own Tech Geek. I can't help but be one of those girls who are into the geeky types. Anyways, he's not much of a geek in appearance. After reading the books till here, I was simply excited to read how V or Vishous will find his happy ending.

The book started out so well, we get to V in a whole different perspective and thoughts. Now, that Butch (his roommate) has a mate. V can't help but feel jealous of how sappy Butch is with his mate, and everything that goes a long with it. He even tells us the story about his father, how he got the tattoos on his face and basically, everything in his past that is relevant.

When V finally finds what he's always wanted, Ward does something really cruel to him. I get it, good authors keep their books in reality and all but what she did to V is so uncool and very tragic. V can't catch a break can he?

Seriously, aside from the uncalled for ending, the series remains as enthralling as ever with everything close to realism (despite my hatred for it, on occasion), writing style that is pure talent. I can't wait to pick up the next book.

Review: Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood #4) by J. R. Ward

(Click image to add to your to be read pile)
Title: Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood #4)
Author: J. R. Ward
Publisher: Signet
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Urband Fantasy
Format: Paperback
Buy: Amazon | Barnes and Noble | The Book Depository

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York,
there's a deadly war raging between vampires and their
slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers
like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their
race. Now, an ally of the Black Dagger Brotherhood
will face the challenge of his life and the evil of the ages.

Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.

But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.

J. R. Ward loves throwing the reader into a unique world of paranormal

Now, that we've got that covered. Lover Revealed is the 4th installment to the BDB (Black Dagger Brotherhood) series. Like all the other books in the series. This one is the story of BDB's human pet, Butch O'Neal. In the first few books, Butch was a cop, a detective that was laid off from the force for going too far with a suspect. After getting laid off, he found himself poking around the wrong areas of Caldwell, New York. Or in other cases, he met a bunch of vampires and one of them (a.k.a. Vishous)  was absolutely smitten on him. Butch, ended up being Vishous' roommate at the big, dark and scary mansion of the Brotherhood. While he's stay there, he met a beautiful vampire aristocrate named Marissa, who he instantly fell in love with.

As the book continues on, we are thrown into Butch's story of his human life before the Brotherhood and how little life he had. How Butch captures Marissa's attention, and all the tortures he goes through to be by her side, his best bud Vishous' side as well as maintain his loyalty to the Brotherhood.

The world Ward writes, is absolutely enthralling. It's unique and nothing matches it's realism, form, style and everything else that comes into literature. Hats off for Wards writing style, imagination and for bringing to life yet another wonderful installment to the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.

Blog Tour: Family Blood Ties Series by Dale Mayer

Title: Vampire in Denial (Family Blood Ties, Book 1)
Author: Dale Mayer
Publisher: Valley Publishing
Length: 68,000 words
Genres: Paranormal YA
Sub-Genres: Action, Adventure, Mystery/Thriller
AVAILABLE AT:  Amazon http://amzn.com/B005FIRJTC

BLURB:

Blood doesn't just make her who she is...it also makes her what she is.

Like being a sixteen-year-old vampire isn't hard enough, Tessa's throwback human genes make her an outcast among her relatives. But try as she might, she can't get a handle on the vampire lifestyle and all the...blood.

Turning her back on the vamp world, she embraces the human teenage lifestyle--high school, peer pressure and finding a boyfriend. Jared manages to stir something in her blood. He's smart and fun and oh, so cute. But Tessa's dream of a having the perfect boyfriend turns into a nightmare when vampires attack the movie theatre and kidnap her date.

Once again, Tessa finds herself torn between the human world and the vampire one. Will blood own out? Can she make peace with who she is as well as what?

No, Cody had some serious skills, at least according to David. It would take a lot for someone to get the drop on him.

"Psst."

He just didn't have much class. Turning around, Tessa watched Cody land in front of her. His graceful controlled landing made her instantly jealous.

"There's no sign of anything unusual going on."

"No, of course not. Why would there be? It's not like they're going to advertise that they've kidnapped humans." She studied the huge stone mansion. "The captives are most likely to be downstairs."

"Whoa. You're not going into the house. If you're determined to take this further, we go back to our parents and let them go to the council. They will determine the best course of action."

Tessa stared at him in disbelief. Everything about the night had taken on a surreal appearance. She was here, where Jared was being held, with someone who could actually help her and he wanted to go for their parents. No knight riding to the rescue here.

Then he'd been raised by the old belief that vampires don't go against vampires - without just cause. She didn't think she could come up with enough evidence to prove her case.

She snagged his arm, willing him to listen. "We have to at least see if they are here."

"No Tessa." He shook his head, his vampire eyes glowing with terrible heat. "That's enough. This isn't a kid's game. This is vampire business."

"And who's going to believe me? No one. I'm not like you. My word doesn't mean anything to the others. If you don't see that Jared's been taken and kept as a captive yourself, you won't be able to convince them either."

He shook his head.

Fine. She'd go in alone. Turning away, she headed to the back of the house. "Go back home. I don't need you."

REVIEWS:

5 stars! Original YA vampire story.

“Vampire in Denial by Dale Mayer is a delightfully different addition to the teen vamp paranormal genre. Can't wait for the sequel.” (Charlotte)

5 stars! Do love.

“This is the first book I've read from Dale Mayer and I'm sure going to be reading more because this is my new favorite vampire romance book since Twilight!” (PrincessZelda))

5 stars! Another exciting series from Dale Mayer

“Oh, book! You were so FUN! I was getting all tense and worried about how poor Tessa was going to prove herself and it was exciting and I desperately wanted her to realize that her tangled up feelings about a certain someone were not all brotherly. But, but...why did you leave me hanging on such a cliffhanger?!?! I MUST KNOW what's going to happen to her!

In most ways, Tessa is an average teenage girl. Her parents don't really understand her, she feels like she's caught between two worlds and she's not sure if the boy she likes likes her back. The fact that she's a vampire who's literally caught between two worlds doesn't change any of that. Her parents really don't have a clue how hard it is for her, a genetic throwback, and no one in her family understands that how the full-blood vampires treat her like a stupid little girl.

All in all, this was a fun, fast read with a girl who definitely came into her own as the story progressed. I thought Cody and his slow revelations about Tessa were adorable. I like how her mother rose up to defend Tessa once things were brought to her attention. I like that Tessa wasn't willing to abandon a friend, even if he was "only human".

I can only guess as to where the next book in this story is heading but I'm DYING to read it now. DYING, Dale Mayer. DYING!” (Kelly Rubidoux)

4 Stars! Exciting first installment in a new YA vampire series!

“This book managed to stand out amongst the plethora of vampire novels out there. I liked how vampires had different abilities and how some of them, like Tessa, seemed more human than vampire (i.e. could be out in the daylight, didn't crave blood). It added a bunch of new dimensions to the world and I'm liking where the series is going.

This really was a great read. I was entirely able to relate with Tessa and enjoyed watching her change throughout the story. Just a warning, the author leaves us with one heck of a cliffhanger, so I can only hope that the next book comes out soon!” (Jamie “Bookerella”)

BLURB:

Note: This is Book 2 in the Family Blood Ties series and picks up exactly where Book I left off.

When Tessa rallies friends and family to find her missing date, they uncover a secret...and start a war that causes ripples in all aspects of their lives.

A vampire with throwback human genes. Sixteen-year-old Tessa finds more than just her friend in this journey...she also finds herself in need of rescue ... Imprisoned, she has to find a way to escape and reunite with her family before this war takes out those she loves.

The youngest of his ancient line. Eighteen-year-old Cody descends from flyer vampires wants Tessa back at his side where she belongs – even as he struggles with conflicting emotions about his best friend's kid sister...

A human determined to protect his people. Seventeen year-old Jared thought his life was over then he finds out that his rescuers are vampires...how can he trust them? And then he finds out the truth about Tessa...and that she's been taken, too...

Three brave souls struggle as war breaks out around them...a war that shows them no mercy.

"Do you not know others in the Council or on committees we can trust? Are all the elders untrustworthy?"

Shocked silence surrounded her.

She closed her eyes and groaned softly. The fragile egos of the elders. "I didn't mean that the way it sounded." She tried again. "I'm trying to understand why you don't trust more people."

"We have elders we trust with many issues. This problem, however...well, it divided the Council when it happened before. It's looking to do the same again, on a much larger scale."

Rubbing the back of her neck, Tessa stared at the two men. "Surely there has to be someone you trust to take control. Or you can bring in many someones. You suggested the Council, then switched to the enforcers. Why?"

"I don't know," Serus muttered, "I started thinking about the members who'd been pro blood farming decades ago."

"It is an ancient problem," she said. "Then bring in young blood. Ones who don't have the same prejudices and beliefs. My generation."

Both men snorted, and Goran said, "We're not bringing in children to do a man's job."

"Why not?" She snapped at him. "I dare you to say that to Cody, Ian, or David."

"That's different. They're men."

Even Serus winced and closed his eyes as if waiting for Tessa to strike Goran a mortal blow.

"I'll ignore that comment, thank you," Tessa said stiffly. Once again, she realized, they'd had a group of vampires together and nothing had gotten done. They'd talked themselves into circles without achieving anything. Pulling out her cell phone, she texted David, repeating her words aloud as she typed. "Who can we contact to help? Dad suggests the Council and the enforcers, and yet has admitted both are problematic."

"Who are you texting?" Serus stared down at the phone in her hand suspiciously.

She smothered a smile. "David."

"David? Why not your mother?"

"Because I figure she's your age and will have the same prejudiced suggestions you do." She shot him a wry glance. "Am I wrong?"

He grimaced. "Probably not."

The wind picked up, chilling them as she waited to hear back.

The longer she waited, the more worried she became. Finally, she looked at her father. "Do we know if our group is still safe? That the people you called in haven't overpowered our people and locked them up?"

"Don't say that. Rhia would have let us know." Serus's face took on a grim look. "I would know if she were in trouble."

The cell phone jingled, relieving Tessa's anxiety, and she hurriedly read David's text.

"He suggests we bring in the media," she said, studying the mixed feelings crossing both men's faces. "Hmm. What do you think of that idea? Or do you consider that another age old prejudice?"

Goran's snort left no doubt about his opinion. "The media can't be trusted at the best of times. This isn't going to be any different."

"Don't you know anyone who's honest? Someone from before? Who, whether you liked them or not, you respected?"

"Hell, no."

REVIEWS:
5 stars! Amazing read!

“This book picked up where Vampire in Denial ended, and notched it up a dozen steps. In the last book, Tessa started out worrying that she didn't fit in anywhere. In this book, she's worried that she and her friends will stay alive. And even more. They've discovered something evil going on. Something that will shake up the vamp and human worlds. Something that's too big for them. But when Tessa calls in reinforcements, things get even weirder.

I'm almost afraid to say anything that will give away the plot. So I'll just say that the end was really satisfying... and then it left me gasping. This entire story has twists and turns that stopped my breath and kept me clicking to the next page. I didn't want to stop reading. I love it too that we get to see into Cody and Jared's minds. Both of them are great, but I'm in the Cody camp. I'm super eager for the next book!” (E.S. Rose)

5 stars! Wonderful Sequel

“Just when we think Tessa is safe and there will be a resolution to the Tessa/Cody/Jared triangle, we're blindsided by more problems for these characters. Ms. Mayer leaves us with the ultimate cliffhanger so that we are all anxiously awaiting the next book to find out what happens!

I am a high school teacher and originally grabbed the first book in the series to see if it would appeal to some of my students. However, I was quickly hooked! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these books. They have romance, action, mystery...something for everyone.” (BJ35)

Title: Earth Blend (Blend Trilogy #2)
Author: Lori Pescatore
Genre: Young Adult: Parnormal, Young Adult: Sci-Fi
Format: eBook

Earth Blend is the second book in the Blend trilogy and the sequel to Human Blend. In this installment, the mysteries of the Blends and Earthlings are revealed. How can Julie live a normal life when she is anything but normal? Her relationship with Austin is complicated by emerging abilities in them both. Trust is hard to come by as lies and secrets hinder them at every turn. Is the past destined to repeat itself as the Earthlings once again rush to save them? Ensuing chaos breeds fatal consequences.

The characters and plot of the Blend Trilogy or at least the first two books of the trilogy were unique and carefully written. Though the environment and how things were mended and written were too much like every other sci-fi paranormal book I've read out there.

Human Blend started off with our protagonist moving into an unknown place on her own after years in captivity. I'm surprised how different the plot was. It was morbid and dark to say the least. It's definitely something for the older Young Adult scene. The type of paranormal beings in the trilogy were somewhat a mix of alienish/fae/elven. It was different and sort of freaky and makes me think about how author come up with this stuff (I say this in a good way, not bad). Julie, the protagonist is a little bit of a annoyance at first, because she tends to "accidentally" fall on men's lips. But after awhile you know why she does that. Strictly by the name of the first book, "Human Blend", the book revolves around Human Blenders and how things work with them.

While in Earth Blend, the second book of the series, speaks about how Earth Blenders helped produce and breed Human Blenders. The story in this installment was a little bit disturbing. The second book begins by focusing on how Eli (a constant character in the first book) was brought amongst plain humans and such. It's really interesting to watch how these science fiction characters Lori came up with came to be. The trilogy makes a reader think, what if, we're not alone and we've been forced to breed an entirely different species and only a select few know about it.

One word. FREAKY.

Though, I haven't read the third book, I can say that the series is interesting, unique, annoying sometimes (because of the characters). But it is a good read for the Young Adult Science Fiction junkie out there. And I give both the books in the trilogy I've read, 3 stars.

And in some cases, even in the midst of betrayal and personal crisis, there’s room to fall in love.

This is the first book in a planned three book series.

Blog Tour: Dreamcast, Moonlight Mayhem by Sherry Soule

“Author Sherry Soule’s DREAM CAST”

Okay, today ‘s post is provided by author Sherry Soule, who is celebrating the release of the second novel in the YA Spellbound series, MOONLIGHT MAYHEM—due to be published July 2012.  This would be her dream cast of actors if her books were ever made into a movie or a TV series. (She’d prefer the latter.) So without further ado here are Sherry’s top actor picks...
My kickbutt heroine, Shiloh Ravenwolf is a tough one. For me it is between these lovely and brilliant actresses: Chloe Bridges and Rachel Bilson and Malese Jow. (I couldn’t find many Native American actresses in my Google search that would fit my description of Shiloh, who is half-French and half-Sioux.)
Quirky, SHILOH (who never leaves the house without her fav hot pink Doc Martens) has a habit of engaging her brain before her mouth. She has seen shadows for as long as she can remember, and they always turn up when something bad is about to happen. Shiloh was born with an unusual mix of Native American Sioux and French Wiccan ancestry. When Shiloh meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, she realizes he might be next on the supernatural hit list. Shiloh decides it’s her duty to find out what is causing the mystical disappearances in Whispering Pines before the evil claims another innocent life. Yet even as a witch-in-training, is Shiloh worthy to combat the forces of darkness? Or is she just another teen destined to befall the town curse?

For the part of the arrogant, playboy, Trent Donovan, I think these dynamic actors would be great: Christopher Chace Crawford or Alex Pettyfer:
After seventeen years, TRENT and his father return to Whispering Pines and are instantly under speculation. Especially when construction on their mansion awakens an ancient evil, and the vanishing of a local teen has everyone murmuring about an old witch’s curse. When Trent meets Shiloh—sparks fly. Shiloh and Trent have an almost instant connection. As their friendship changes from mutual lust to real affection, they achieve an emotional closeness rarely found. He finds Shiloh’s willful determination a challenge, but he still has a hard time expressing his feelings.  Will Trent be able to survive the Whispering Pine curse in time to tell Shiloh how he feels?

For Shiloh’s mother, Jillian Ravenwolf –Broussard, I like this amazing actress: Kelly Lee Carlson (she would be so freakin’ perfect).
Shiloh’s mother, JILLIAN BROUSSARD is an incredibly beautiful yet cryptic woman. She has never really been the “motherly” type. When she starts dabbling in Dark Magicks, she slips further away from her family. Jillian has been embracing darkness, and straying from the path of Wicca. Will the cost of her driving ambition come at a deadly price?

For Jackson Ravenwolf (Shiloh’s father) this wonderful actor might be great: Oded Fehr.
JACKSON RAVENWOLF is Shiloh’s father, and he only wants peace within his troubled family. He is a kind-hearted man who tends to be swept up in Shiloh’s drama. He does not believe in the supernatural. Not in ghosts or hauntings or mysterious happenings as well as psychic abilities. He thinks the rumors about witches are ridiculous. Still he’s worried that Shiloh will discover his secret. Will he finally find the courage to tell Shiloh the truth about her heritage?

For Shiloh’s sassy best friend, Ariana Parsons, this remarkable actress would be great: Tiffany Thornton.
Smart and feisty, ARIANA PRESTON is Shiloh’s best friend. Her outgoing nature, along with her snarky and blunt personality are Ariana’s most endearing qualities. Upon learning that Shiloh is actually a powerful thirteenth witch, she dedicates herself to aiding her friend in the battle against evil. But after playing around with the occult, Ariana develops a taste for the dark arts. Will her interest in the Craft only cause more havoc and mayhem in a town that is already cursed by dark magick?

For Anthony Evans, Shiloh’s mentor and friend, I like these gifted actors best: Josh Lucas or Patrick Wilson.
ANTHONY EVANS is a Victorian restoration specialist and part-time paranormal investigator that grew up in Castro Valley, California, and gifted with Sight. After the death of his wife, he moves in with his brother-in-law, Maxwell Donovan and his nephew, Trent to help cleanse their haunted house. After hiring Shiloh as an assistant, he decides that it’s his duty to educate Shiloh in all things supernatural. But will teaching her magick be enough to stop the evil from killing the other teenagers in town?

For Shiloh’s brave and loving aunt Lauren, I like these outstanding actresses, Gwyneth Paltrow or Charilze Theron:
LAUREN BROUSSARD wants to help Shiloh deal with her newfound powers. Although, continuous, heated disagreements with her sister, Jillian about Shiloh’s upbringing resulted in her being estranged from the family. But what can Lauren say when Shiloh starts asking questions about the Broussard family’s dark past?

Only one actor comes to mind that could portray the dashing and ruthless, Maxwell Donavon – Australian actor and former fashion model, Julian Dana William McMahon:
Millionaire, yuppie, MAXWELL DONOVAN finally appears in MOONLIGHT MAYHEM. He shares his son Trent’s intensity, articulacy, and conviction. Maxwell was married to Claire and stole not only her heart, but her sanity as well. Rumors abound after he is accused of murdering his wife. Is he really a heartless killer or is there more to this enigmatic man?

For the bratty Trendies, Ashley and Kayla, I like these young, talented actresses: Victoria Justice for Ashley and Amanda Bynes for Kayla:
ASHLEY WITHERIDGE is the mayor’s daughter. She is the Queen Bee at Whispering Pines High. Always calm and poised, and perfectly coiffed. She is Shiloh’s best frenemy. Ashley is very loyal to her friends while still being independent. When an unstoppable beast invades the town, will Ashley put aside her differences to join forces with Shiloh?

KAYLA BISHOP is Ashley’s best friend and captain of the cheerleading squad. At times, she can be spontaneous or cautious—whatever the situation calls for. She’s tougher than she looks, but can a bit of an airhead. Will Kayla surprise herself with her own insightful contributions to the fight against evil?

For the Ramírez family, I like these three talented actors: Michael Trevino as Daniel, Famke Janssen as Regina, and Demián Bichir as Javier.
