"I watched Max as he removed the bag from off his back. “Keep an eye out while I fill this,” I told him as I took the bag from his grasp. Our fingers brushed slightly and I did my best to act as if I didn‟t notice. I dropped the bag and opened it, surveying the shelves of what was available." - Page 23
I'm I just started reading this a day or two ago as a PDF. As the my exams started. I had to stop reading for awhile. I'm trying to slowing read through chapters before I leave for Dubai on the 15th of June. I've got time I guess. :D Roughly 2 weeks from now. Anywaaaaays, I'm really enjoying this book. Even though its just the beginning. But I love how easy it is to read.
Whats on your Teaser Tuesday today? :D

Its Monday! What are you reading? #20
This is a weekly meme hosted by One Person's Journey Through A World Of Books. It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
What I'm reading:
Goodreads Synopsis: After a demon apocalypse kills their parents and everyone they know, 17-year old Abby Phillips, her brother, Carter, and friend, Max flee their home to travel through what has become the wastelands of America. When radio transmissions of a resistance offering shelter and safety cease, Abby is tempted to give up. Struggling to overcome life-threatening obstacles in their dangerous journey, Abby and her companions quickly discover there are much worse things lurking in the dark than they could have ever imagined.
Comments: I like it! I can't wait for the end of my exams so I can read it all the way! :D Yay!

Review: Acadia, Book 1: The Goddess of Time and The Lost King by Ali Naqvi
Title: Acadia, Book I: The Lost King and the Goddess of Time (The Second Great War Trilogy)
Acadia reminded me so much of the Lord of the Rings but still held its own uniqueness and originality. Naqvi managed to write beautifully and create such a magnificent world. If you liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy you will enjoy this book entirely.
It was adventurous and exciting. Maybe not in the beginning but as the pages kept on turning so did the story. Some bits and twists were predictable but besides that every part was written rather poetically. Naqvi has talent and I'm sure with each book of this trilogy it will get better!
I really enjoyed reading about Damont's journey to find out who he really is. I felt a real connection to him and his Uncle Julian. But there were some characters in the story that have me skeptical about their friendship (Maybe its just paranoia). Yep, I'm talking about the bad guys. They'll totally annoy me in this one specially the "real big bad guy" at the end. He's a lot more playful and cynical. I guess he likes to play with his food before eating it. If you know what I mean.
Overall, the characters were all carefully written and the story was awesomely planned. But the genre isn't for me. But for those who like to try different things and who loved the LOTR Trilogy you should pick up this book. 4/5 stars
Comments:
So I was reading this on the iPad and everyone kept on taking the iPad from me because you know. Its not my iPad. Its "our family's" iPad. So there's 4 of us using it. Anyways, my point is. I'm not comfortable reading E-books on E-readers and I took almost more than 2 weeks to finish this book because of it. I think I'd rather read them all on my Adobe Reader on my Macbook. I read faster that way. Plus, I really get into the story without any distractions! I'm glad I finished another book this month. I thought I'd be stuck with just 2 this month. I'm such a disgrace in the book blogging community.
I'd like to thank Ali for allowing me to review his book. I enjoyed it and my venture onto this genre.

Re-Cover Me Friday #4
Re-Cover Me Friday, is a new feature only featured on my blog. It is a feature where I basically take a book cover and redesign it completely in my own way. This is something I can do that incorporates both my hobby and my job (I'm a designer :D if you don't know already). I'm very excited about this! I hope everyone will find this enjoyable.
As I promised! I present to you Prismatica! :D
Click the image to view it in full.
While I was reading Prismatica every story seemed to somehow connect to this scene on the cover and because of that I came up with the one on the right. It actually took me awhile to make it because I kept on changing it completely. But the third times the charm! :D I really liked Prismatica. If you guys haven't read it yet. Please do! :D A little note as well. o.o It looks like I forgot to crop the image to the actual book size. Haha.
Stock used:
mzacha - foreground
night-fate - sky
lillyfly06-stock - tree
kasko, sabercat, mattox - kids
Thanks to all the stock providers! :D
For more info on the books:
L. David Hesler's Blog

Disclaimer: I mean no disrespect to the actual designers of the books that are mentioned. I also do not own any of the images that are used on the re-covered designs unless otherwise stated.

Waiting on Wednesday #18
"Waiting On" Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone's excited about (created by Jill at Breaking The Spine.)
Expected publication: September 15th 2011
Goodreads Synopsis: The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:
Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.
Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
Comments: Jennifer's been teasing us with little sneak peeks of this book and its really driving me up the wall. I want this book and I want it now!

Waiting on Wednesday #17
"Waiting On" Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone's excited about (created by Jill at Breaking The Spine.)
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky — taken by the Society to his certain death — only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.
Cassia’s quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander — who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia’s heart — change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever

Comments: I haven't done a WoW since O.O April 6th apparently. WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING?! I've been slacking off completely. *hits self* GET BACK ON TRACK WOMAN! Anyways, I really can't wait to read Crossed. I loved Matched a lot. :D It unique in so many ways.

Teaser Tuesday #15
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading, wherein we share teasers (not spoilers) from the books we're currently reading.
"Admiring the grandness of the city, Damont loved the history behind the city's orgin- it was always a topic he would ask Ephesus over and over..." - Page 114
Comments:
Yes, I'm still reading this. And no its not because of the book. I'm reading this in E-book format which I have on my iPhone and iPad and I am not used to reading anything on techy gadgets and frankly I'm beginning to hate it very much because I tend to forget that I'm reading something on them. Besides, I'm buried deep in both work and Uni work. -.- So after I'm done reading Acadia and the other E-book I have waiting for me. I won't be accepting any more E-books for Review. I will make exceptions from time to time but not all the time.
Have a great day! :D

Review: Prismatica by L. David Hesler
Title: Prismatica
Author: L. David Hesler
Started: 4/5/11
Prismatica is a collection of dark, poetic, short stories. They all had me captivated. I was sitting there with my mom’s iPad on my lap flipping through the pages without knowing what I expected and WOW. It blew me away. They weren’t just random thought of stories they were deep, horrific and… I can’t describe it. It stirred something deep within me and now I’m inspired to write. And all 7 were somewhat connected to one another and Hesler did it well! My favorite of the 7 is Sadie’s Beast. It was short but I still loved it.
Hesler has potential to write a full on awesome novel. He’s got the talent for it and I’m looking forward to seeing where writing takes him! I can’t wait to read his upcoming fantasy novels! He deserves more recognition! I’d like to recommend everyone to read his 88 paged e-book! It was creepy and unputdownable a great change in my usual YA paranormal AND I read all in one sitting. :D Oh and watch out for my Re-Cover of this book! Hesler gave me permission to do so. So I'd like to do it for this weeks Re-Cover Me Friday! So watch out!

Review: Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires #1) by Rachel Caine
Title: Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires #1)
Before I continue on to the review I'd like to vent first.
aoaifjasjkhfkafmsfsghdjkfghagfjkajfahfa!!!!!!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Okay I'm done.
I took a long time trying to finish this book and no its not because I didn't like it but because of certain events that happened. I was too distracted to read it properly. But now, I'm better and life is more exciting and all. Anyways, onto the book. It was a GREAT first book. It was completely different from other vampire books I've read. Rachel Caine has an original on her hands and I like it!
The book started out really rough. Not in the writing sense but the events that happened to the main character Claire. Poor thing really. Shes so young and being treated all mean like that. The secondary I'm currently loving as well. Especially Eve she kind of reminds me of Abby from NCIS. Goth and happy. Its really cute. :D
I don't think I should keep you guys. So main point here is. I loved it. It was unique, it was dark and had events I did not expect and also has Shane as my fav hottie. :D It was unputdownable. So if you haven't read the series yet you should!
I'd like to Thank Vickie from ComaCalm (I spelt it right this time!!) for sending me her copy of the book. It was an exceptional read! :D Thank you!
