Guestpost + Steamy Teasers : The Marriage Diaries by Erika Wilde

MAN CHESTS OR COUPLES?

I love all my covers for The Marriage Diaries, and they were pretty easy to design because the main couple of the series is married.  The same couple is on every cover, but in a different pose and it just works for the set of books.  But now I’m getting ready to start a new spin-off series to The Marriage Diaries called THE PLAYERS CLUB, and I have to rethink a new look and cover concept for this brand new series.
I really do love having “couples” on a cover.  I think it gives the reader a good feel for the characters and sets the tone of the book/story inside.  I especially like covers of a couple in a sexy or erotic embrace.  But THE PLAYERS CLUB is going to be a hero focused/driven series, and I was wondering if I should change things up and go with a hero-only cover.  Like those hot, sexy “man chest” type covers that are swoon worthy.  I really can’t decide!

What is your personal preference when it comes to covers?  Do you like seeing a couple on the cover, or does a hot hunk catch your attention?

Title: The Marriage Diaries (The Marriage Diaries #1 - #4)
Author: Erika Wilde
Genre: Erotic Romance 18+
Publication Date: September 11, 2013
Cover Design: Novel Cover Designs

Synopsis
Erika Wilde turns up the heat in THE MARRIAGE DIARIES, an erotic series about a married couple who take intimacy and passion to the extreme.
After nearly twenty years of marriage, Jillian Noble is ready to put some spice back into her sex life with her gorgeous husband, Dean. After seducing him at his office, Jillian reveals what she wants, and her husband is more than happy to oblige. Erotic fantasies are fulfilled, and forbidden passions surface as they open themselves up to a provocative world where boundaries are pushed to the limit and pleasure is the ultimate goal.
But Dean has a dark past, and even darker desires that he’s kept a tight rein on all these years. When he gives his wife a taste of his more illicit appetite, will she embrace his carnal needs, or beg for mercy?
WARNING: Contains explicit sexual content and is recommended for mature readers who enjoy erotic situations, as well as graphic language and imagery.

The Marriage Diaries boxed set is on sale for $.99 (normally $3.99) until December 1st.

About the Author
Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers. So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.
I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates. My next book, THE INVITATION, will introduce the men of that new series, THE PLAYERS CLUB.

 Teaser

In this scene, Alessandra has gone to visit a fortune teller with her best friend, Kathryn.  It is here that she learns of the prophecy that will change her life forever…

“Alessandra,” Madame Isabella began, the tone of her voice becoming ominous and foreboding. Ally felt a shiver of dread run through her body. She should have listened to those instincts and gotten out of here, but no…
“You are a hunted woman, Alessandra. Two men are bound to you by destiny, but both have very different purposes. James Carlisle has been sent to protect you. Trust him with your life, he is your guardian and soulmate. Vincent, the other man, wants you dead…” She paused as she looked into the crystal ball, her eyes widened slightly and her lips parted in surprise. “Someone you love is keeping a secret from you that will shatter your world and change your life in ways you cannot imagine. You are not who you think you are, Alessandra.”
Ally, was vaguely aware of Kathryn’s arm around her. The feeling of dread had completely absorbed her to the point that she was paralyzed with fear.
“Are you ok, Ally?” her friend whispered, while giving her arm a squeeze.
Ally’s only response was a vague nod.
Madame continued, “Two people close to you will die, you cannot stop this. It is all meant to be and will mark the beginning of the prophecy…the prophecy you were born to fulfil.”
Ally’s breath caught in her throat. “Prophecy? What prophecy?”
“You were born to save an ancient race and kill Vincent. He will die at your hand if the prophecy is fulfilled.” The fortune teller paused for a moment, feeling desperately sorry for the sweet innocent girl sitting before her, but she knew that hiding the truth from her would ultimately lead to her demise. She leaned over and grabbed Ally’s hand in an effort to offer her some comfort. “The destiny that has been chosen for you will not be an easy one, but you were born to do this. No matter what do not lose hope, if you lose hope, then you have already lost, and you will die. Vincent will win, and the human race will be slaughtered with no one to protect them.”
Ally snatched her hand back as if it was burned. With a deceptively calm voice she said, “I want to go home, Kathryn. Now!”
“Of course,” Kathryn said as she helped her friend up.
“Ally,” Madame Isabella continued. “Remember that when you lose those people, things will have been set in motion that no one can stop. It will have begun.”
Unable to form any words, Ally glared at the woman, until Kathryn pulled her along and got her outside the tent.
Once outside, Ally felt like she could breathe again. They started walking so fast it was almost a light jog. Both were eager to get as far from that place as possible.
Madame Isabella watched the girls leave with a peculiar look on her face. “So the prophecy is true,” she muttered, shaking her head slightly in disbelief. “Poor girl, you have no idea what is coming for you.” A tear rolled down her cheek as she turned and walked back inside.
“I’m so sorry, Ally. I should never have forced you into that.” Kathryn felt dreadful for insisting that Ally have a reading too.
“It’s not true,” Ally muttered shaking her head. “It can’t be.”
Ally was still walking without a destination in mind, the only requirement she had was to be far away from Madame Isabella. Kat was walking with her, gently guiding her through the crowds. She could tell her friend was not watching where she was going.
“Not a chance that was way too bizarre,” Kat said, trying to be reassuring. However, they both knew that it more than likely was true. Madame Isabella seemed to be the real deal.
“Right.” Ally smiled trying to perk up. If I don’t believe it, then it won’t happen, right? Losing two people close to her, Vincent, a guardian and soulmate named James. It was all too much. Then the reality of what she had been told hit her. The air was knocked from her lungs, she couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, and then everything went black…

YA Paranormal Thriller + Giveaway: ASYLUM by Jenny E. Miller

A little sneak peak for my wonderful followers to enjoy! And at the end of the post you can enter to win an eBook copy of the book. :)

Sneak Peak of ASYLUM, by Jenny E. Miller, coming to Kindle March 25th

Those few moments of wringing my hands together in the Jeep felt like hours. I turned over every possible scenario in my head. Frank struck by a burning beam; Frank sunk in a burned-out floorboard; Frank gone forever before he even had the chance to take me to the movies. Just as I was picturing his faded jeans engulfed in flames, there he was, running out the front door carrying a mass of bodies. I counted four heads among the bobbing limbs. There was Bitsy and her husband Charles, one across each of Frank’s shoulders, and Dolly and Charles Jr, one cupped under each hulking arm like human footballs. I knew Frank was strong, but Jesus. He was running at an impossible pace down the porch steps and across the grass toward me. Sirens finally echoed across the pastures. Help was coming.

I jumped out of the Jeep as Frank dumped the Flannigans down on the grass.

“Get down!”

Frank tackled me to the grass as the house exploded in a ball of flame, a monstrous boom announcing the house’s demise. The world went quiet, replaced by a loud ringing in my ears. Frank was on top of me, the weight of his body forcing me to pant for breath. All my lungs could come up with was smoke. Then I realized that it wasn’t just Frank’s weight that was crushing me—a giant piece of wood from the explosion had landed squarely across his back. It was on fire.

“Frank! Frank!” I hit his arm and screamed. At least I hoped I was screaming; without being able to hear there was no way to gauge the volume of my voice. “Frank!” I pounded his shoulder. He finally pushed himself up, dazed.

“Are you okay, June?” The fire from the beam had spread to his jacket.

“Your back! Your back!” I pointed. He peered over his shoulder and with one hand grabbed the giant beam, flinging it ten yards across the grass. He rose and casually slid off his flaming leather jacket as if it weren’t a thousand degrees and melting even as he pulled his arms from the sleeves. I laid on the grass staring in disbelief. He reached out a hand to help me up.

“Are you okay?”

“What?” He came close and spoke directly into my ringing ear.

“Are you okay, June?” I nodded.

Without another word he grabbed my hand and we were running back to the Jeep. Frank tossed me in the passenger seat, turned the ignition and we were off. I screamed words of protest (was I screaming? I was certainly trying), but he didn’t seem to hear or care. As we sped away I turned to see the kids attempting to sit up. That was a good sign. Charles was hunched over his wife’s body, shaking her. He looked like he was screaming. Bitsy didn’t move.

The Fire Department would be here soon and they would have questions. We had to stay. We had to help. But every objection seemed lost on Frank. The Jeep was already cutting out through the back pasture and bumping through the orchards.

Blog Tour: Dex-files by Karina Halle Teaser

Before I get to the teaser, I'd just like to say that I am a HUGE fan of the series. I went through the series like a mad man... or woman and now that On Demon Wings is out. I'll go through that like a mad person too! PLUS! I'm going to be tackling the short stories that I have, which is just one. =.= I need to somehow get the rest and AMAZON! Doesn't sell eBooks to the Middle East. How stupid is that. *pissed off*! Anyways, I was supposed to do a book feature as well. But I don't have time for that anymore. I'm at the peak of finals and I've got two thesis defenses next week and I can't wait to be done with this crap. It annoys the living hell out of me. =.= I want to READ and do more BLOG TOURS!! Okay... enough with my ranting. Here's the teaser! Enjoy!

A scene from “Butterfly Caught” – spoiler free

"She was in the bathroom but I didn’t hear the shower running.

I gave a quick rap on the door.

“It’s Dex,” I said giving her enough time to cover herself. I tried the handle. Locked. Guess she thought I was the type of guy who would ambush her in the shower.

Guess she was kind of right about that.

The door eventually opened a crack and Perry gave me a suspicious look. That’s all I noticed before I spied her breasts which were spilling over the top of her towel. And by towel, I mean dishcloth. The girl was dangerously close to having a nipple slip.

“Hello there,” I said in an extremely sleazy voice. Didn’t mean to, just slipped out. I hoped her breast might follow suit.

“How long have you been standing there?” I heard her ask. She sounded far away. All I could see was skin and cleavage and beads of water rolling down full mounds and…

She reached over and pushed at my forehead until my eyes were forced to meet hers. That was OK. I liked staring into her eyes as much as I liked staring at her boobs.

“Did you just see Sarah leave?” she asked, tension in her voice.

“Why?” I looked at her closely. She looked more scared than annoyed at my leering and when my head cleared of the blatant sexuality on display, I remembered why I had come up there. Her pale skin was marred with rough, red scratches up and down her arms, on her hands, her face.

She closed her eyes and sighed, getting ready to close the door. “Nevermind.”

I quickly put my arm up to stop it. “Nuh uh.” I pushed my way into the bathroom and shut the door behind me. “You need some attending.”

“Oh yeah, you’d like that wouldn’t you?” she sniped and took a step back from me.

Sheesh. What the hell was her problem? I wasn’t the one who told her to go off into the desert with her arms wide open yelling “Come to me my animal friends!” I told her to do the opposite.

I raised my brow at her in warning. Then I sighed, opened the kit up in the sink and said, “Actually I’d like it if you were being the sexy nurse, not me.”

I tried not to imagine that hot little fantasy of mine and concentrated on the task at hand; pouring alcohol on gauze and cleaning up her wounds. Time to man up and quit thinking with my dick.

She flinched as I pressed the solution into her arm but she held it together for the most part. I have to admit, it was a bit unnerving being so close to her when she had on just a towel. Hell, if I was being honest here, it’s unnerving being close to her in general. The way she smelled, the feel of her skin beneath my hands, it was intoxicating. And confusing.

And there I was with my dick thinking again. Although…it wasn’t just that.

And that was the confusing part, wasn’t it?"
