The book was 28 pages and that fact kind of surprised me. But then I realized it was a short story. :D Silly me! I expected a little more from the book. The story was there and the characters were good but the dialogue wasn't what I expected.

Lets just say, Surrender to Me could have been better if more detail was included and the story started out from Delvin's correspondence with the gypsies rather than him running away from Anna (the girl he fell in love with). I would have written this a little different if it was me writing. What puzzled me the most is that he's 200 years old and he is so ignorant about his species and what to do in life. After so long, wouldn't he already be an expert and probably made a name for himself instead of him being poor and a swindler. There's more behind the story and now, I'm wondering if Hall will write more about Delvin.

Overall, Surrender to me is a good quick short story read but still lacks a few bits here and there and I know the author is capable of doing more with the story. I'm looking forward to see how Hall will do when she publishes her first novel. YAY!
