February 2011 Cover Reveals!

I've decided to add a little unique post at the end of every month. I don't know if other people have done this before but so far I haven't seen anyone do this. I decided to post up all the cover reveals that occurred during the entire month at the end of it all! I think its a pretty good idea since a lot of people tend to just post about book reveals all at the same time and it spams my inbox. I mean I don't know which blogger to comment on anymore! So I decided to post about all the cover reveals at the end of all the revealing. Haha. Besides, I like seeing all these amazing covers in one blog post. SO PRETTY!

So without further ado! Here are the beautiful reveals!

The Girl in the Steel Corset (The Steampunk Chronicles #1) by Kady Cross - May 24th, 2011
Goodreads: She thought there was something wrong with her. She was right.
Finley Jayne has known for quite some time that she isn’t ‘normal,’ but when she beats up the son of her employer and is forced to flee, she stumbles into a world where there are bigger freaks than her. They take her in, treat her like family and demand her trust. How can Finley trust them when she can’t trust herself? And why is she drawn to the powerful Griffin as well as the dangerous Jack? She has to get herself under control before she gets into trouble she can’t get out of.

Griffin King is one of the most powerful men in Britain but he couldn’t save his best friend from almost dying. He is determined to save Finley and help her become the person he knows she can be, but there’s evil afoot in London. Machines have attacked humans under the orders of a nefarious criminal called The Machinist. He has sworn to protect his country against such a threat, but he’s never faced any foe like this. However, when he discovers The Machinist’s connection to his past, Griffin vows to end the villain once and for all — but he’ll need the help of all his friends, including the beautiful Finley Jayne – the girl in the steel corset.

Hourglass by Myra McEntire - May 24th, 2011
Goodreads: For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn’t there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents’ death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She’s tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson’s willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.
Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he’s around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?

Full of atmosphere, mystery, and romance, Hourglass merges the very best of the paranormal and science-fiction genres in a seductive, remarkable young adult debut.

Jessica Rules the Dark Side (Jessica #2) by Beth Fantaskey - January 9, 2012

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
Goodreads: Skye never questioned the story of her life. Her Aunt Jo adopted her after the death of her parents when she was just a child, and together they flip through memories the way some people flip through photo albums.

She never questioned if the stories were true.

Until the night of her 17th birthday, when the arrival of two strangers intrudes on her cozy life. Polar opposites, like fire and ice, Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair, cold, and aloof. Skye has no idea what they want—only that their presence coincides with the beginning of some shockingly strange events. Events that Skye, if she dares to think it, might be responsible for causing.

High up in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado, Skye finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient battle, one that began untold millennia ago. Torn between unpredictable Asher, whom she loves, and the infuriating Devin, who she can’t stay away from, her fate is murky as a starless night. And as the secrets of her true identity are revealed, Skye realizes that her destiny may reside in the Heavens—or somewhere darker.

He isn’t happy when he sees his best friend, Jason, reach out to help Holly with her grandfather—but as a ghost, he can do nothing to stop it. Is his best friend really falling for his girlfriend?

She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner--are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her new found status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Review:

I can't believe I haven't read this until now! But I am so glad I turned down buying The Awakening and Bloody Valentine just to start this series off. This book literally had me laughing and on my toes!

So much action, humor and a hell lot of sexual tension and love! All positive reviews I've read led me to the right path and book to read during these bad times. I couldn't stop reading! I would have finished this yesterday but there were too many distractions, like the internet for example and uni. haha. I loved it! Jeaniene Frost's writing is somewhat similar to J.R.Wards writing which made me love it more.

I've heard so much of Cat and Bone's love and how Bones was so hot and yummy! But no one mentioned he had an accent. That made me frail all over the place much more than I thought.

I know, this review is all over the place! I'm writing this while watching the new episode of Vampire Diaries! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING WITH THAT! O.O (Unrelated I know)

Even though the ending made me cry and I can't believe Cat just did that. This is my fav adult Urban Fantasy book! I loved it! If you're 18 and over and haven't picked it up yet, I recommend you do! You will not be disappointed! 5 stars! 5 stars!!! Jeaniene Frost is a freaking genius! I'm going to go past a whole roundabout full of angry protesters just to go to the mall to buy the next book. :D

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Review: Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins

Title: Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3)
Author: Suzanne Collins
Started: 19/2/11
Finished: 22/2/11

Review:

Well, that was one hell of a ride. I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading this series.

I first heard about The Hunger Games from my cousin (Who I mention a lot of in this blog). Its synopsis did not appeal to me and what did was all the positive reviews about it. Bit by bit I kept on reading and seeing it everywhere in the Blogosphere. Eventually, my local bookstore started selling the series and then I bought all three and started reading them!

Now, I've just finished the last book in the series and I would say. It didn't appeal to me like how Vampire Academy would but it was so close. It was a real EPIC story. The whole story was realistic in its own way. I literally imagined myself living in such a place. I wasn't really okay with how it ended. It just all seemed too ack for me, I really didn't like it at all but oh well.

The book was paced and an easy read. I enjoyed how exciting each event became as well as unpredictable. It will blow you away completely. I felt like I experienced a lot after reading this series. Suzanne Collins wrote an unforgettable book full of thrilling action, pain and love. The book was unputdownable and I highly recommend it to all.

On my wishlist #9

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It's also an event that you can join in with too - Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own 'On My Wishlist' post. If you want to know more click HERE.

Goodreads Synopsis:
17 year-old Kelley Winslow doesn’t believe in Faeries. Not unless they’re the kind that you find in a theatre, spouting Shakespeare—the kind that Kelley so desperately wishes she could be: onstage, under lights, with a pair of sparkly wings strapped to her shoulders. But as the understudy in a two-bit, hopelessly off-off-Broadway production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, wishing is probably the closest she’s going to get to becoming a Faerie Queen. At least, that’s what she thinks... In this fun, urban fantasy, Kelley's off-stage life suddenly becomes as complicated as one of Shakespeare’s plot twists when a nighttime trip to Central Park holds more than meets the mortal eye.

Comments:

I've heard many awesome things about this series and all the covers look amazing! Especially the last book. I hope I get it soon. :D
