Review:

I would have finished this yesterday instead of today but I couldn't concentrate because of all the pain the government was inflicting onto us (the people of Bahrain) and the footage of all the people in the hospitals. Gah.

Anyways, I actually dreaded reading the beginning because instead of taking me off into a whole different place for refuge it took me somewhere similar and worse than where I am now. I know I'm being very dark and depressing right now but its how I felt in the beginning of the book.

As I went on reading I dreaded it less and started enjoying it. The second installment to The Hunger Games created a whole new plot twist. It had a lot more going on than the first book I should say. The writing really makes it movie worthy. Its such an epic book. It'll blow you away with its events. Even though I was passive when they happened. The book is amazing and unputdownable. I just read it at the wrong time. haha. 5 stars! If you've read it before! Let me know what you think. :D

Note: About my previous post about me being Hiatus and all. It'll only happen probably when our situation gets worse here in Bahrain. But so far, the internet has not been cut. Good thing too! :D If you don't know what I'm talking about refer to my previous post here.

Review: The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins

Title: The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1)
Author: Suzanne Collins
Started: 13/2/11
Finished: 15/2/11

Goodreads Synopsis: Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love

Review: Hearing about this everywhere got me a little excited to read it and the fact that everyone read it already made me want to read it more. But I was hesitant as well. I expected so much and the last time I did so I was crushed. But this time all my expectations were filled with pure AWESOMENESS!

There were no vamps, angels, fairies and somewhat no werewolves. Its a change of my usual read. But it was for the better! I am no longer afraid to go beyond the horizons and explore the world of literature. :D

I will quote many others when I say this. This is an AMAZING book. The writing and how everything flowed so smoothly just kept me reading. I never thought I would find something as close to goodness after Vampire Academy.

Every paragraph and sentence I read felt like I was watching a movie in my head. I was completely engrossed in the book and it kept me reading. While I read I kept on telling myself "Woah, it's like I'm reading a movie script but with more detail". I swear if they change anything in the movies and turns out bad I will be very angry. The book kept me on my toes! The suspense was hair ripping and I loved it!

To conclude this review I would say that I adored the protagonist Katniss she is every bit of a kickass person I want in a protagonist. I love Peeta because hes just so dang adorable. The story was amazing though it resembled Battle Royale. It still held its uniqueness. The writing was incredible. Suzanne Collins is a great writer and created an epic story of strife, strength, and love. Simply unputdownable. A great read for all.
